The attendees were treated to informative talks by Carol Fernandes and Suraksha Warriors’ founder, Mr. John Fernandes, interactive sessions, and opportunities to share their experiences and ask questions. The objective was to create a safe and comfortable space for women to openly discuss these crucial issues and raise awareness about them.

Bicholim, 12/03/2023: Suraksha Warriors (Feminine Group), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting women’s health and wellbeing, organized a Menstrual Health Awareness and Free Sanitary Pad Distribution Drive on 12/03/2023 at Bicholim The event was a huge success with over 75 women attended the program.
The drive aimed to spread awareness about menstrual health and hygiene among women and provide them with free sanitary pads to ensure that they have access to safe and hygienic menstrual products. The event started with a brief introduction by Secretary Mrs Carol Fernandes about the importance of menstrual hygiene and how it affects women’s health.

The attendees were then given a detailed presentation on menstrual health, including information on the menstrual cycle, how to maintain hygiene during periods, and the importance of using safe and hygienic menstrual products. The organizers also addressed common misconceptions and taboos surrounding menstruation, and encouraged women to break the silence and openly discuss menstrual issues.

After the informative session, the women were provided with free sanitary pads, which were distributed by the organizers. The distribution was done in a hygienic and organized manner, ensuring that each woman received the appropriate number of pads to last for their menstrual cycle.
The attendees expressed their gratitude to the organizers for organizing such an informative and much-needed program. They also appreciated the efforts of the organizers in providing them with free sanitary pads, which they said would be a great help, especially for those who cannot afford to buy them regularly.

Overall, the Menstrual Health Awareness and Free Sanitary Pad Distribution Drive organized by Suraksha Warriors Feminine Group was a great success, with the attendees gaining valuable knowledge about menstrual health and hygiene, and receiving free sanitary pads to help them manage their periods safely and hygienically.

Suraksha Warriors Members and Volunteers took to the city’s coastline, cleaning it and the abutting fishing hamlets as part of the International Coastal Cleanup Day (ICCD) observed on Saturday. The day is marked each year on the third Saturday of September as an initiative of the Goa-based NGO Suraksha Warriors, also working ahead for ocean health.
